Advanced Football Coaching (AFC) "Strictly Invite Only"

OUR MK ADVANCED FOOTBALL COACHING (AFC) Centre is now in its 10th year and our Northampton (AFC) Centre is in its 8th year. In this time 9 boys have signed for Premiership Academies and over 96 players from our AFC Centres have signed Centre of Excellence (CoE) forms at professional clubs. We wish all the players every success with their football career at the professional clubs.

What is it?

All players that join our Advanced Football Coaching have been invited through the following ways; the pathway for an invitation to our (AFC) centres is:

  1. Perform well on our Soccer Schools
  2. Recommended by a Manager or Coach and currently play in Divison 1 or 2 of your local league.
  3. Professional club Academy or Centre of Excellence Manager recommends the player to us. If you join through process no 2 or 3 the player would then have 3 week trial with us before they are fully selected to join our training and match programme. Once the player has joined (AFC) they will train once a week for an hour and a half, from the first week of school term to the last week of school term. BackoftheNetFC arrange matches for each age group on the last week of term, players will be selected for an ADVANCED or ELITE team depending on their performance in training and matches throughout the term. The ADVANCED team chosen will play against our other ADVANCED Centre, whilst the players who have performed to a high standard throughout the term will play for the ELITE team against a professional Academy or (CoE).

Development

The training and match experience offer players the chance to learn a more technical side to the game and to play at an ADVANCED or ELITE level. This is an opportunity for budding young footballers to train at the same pace as the players who are developing at pro clubs.

Talent Identification

We have helped many players fulfil their dreams of improving their ability, and playing and training with a professional club. Academy directors and (CoE) managers from pro clubs frequently visit and coach on our Soccer Schools and Advanced Centres.

The Training Programme

The children will work on a themed topic each term. They will work on the basics right through to developing into match situations. Each child will receive a progress report at the end of each term. We feel feedback is important to a childs development.

Links

There are many talented young footballers in the area, but many miss out on the chance to develop their talent and improve with their local clubs or progress on to a professional level. At BackoftheNetfc we have links to many professional and semi-pro clubs in the UK. We have implemented the (PYDS) Progressive Youth Development System for Northampton Town Football Club (NTFC). The system now provides a pathway for players from beginners to advanced and elite talent to progress in to the NTFC (CoE) our (AFC) Centre players have the chance to impress Academy or (CoE) coaches in the matches arranged at the end of each term.

Coaches

The first step towards your dream is to train with our coaches, who have all been pro footballers and who hold the highest coaching certificates. Please visit our COACH PROFILES page to see the wealth of experience we have on our great team.

Finn has been attending BackoftheNet for 5 years now and I would like to thank all the coaching team for all the opportunities that Finn has received. He's had a two month trial with Aston Villa and is now with Northampton Town. The level of coaching and enjoyment that Finn gets is fantastic and I would recommend to any lad that has a passion for the game to really consider BackoftheNet !! Many thanks, Steve N.

BackoftheNet has been influential in helping our school achieve County Sports School of the Year in 2009. The standard of coaching is of the highest level and BackoftheNetFC takes the education of sports seriously. I cannot praise them highly enough!

Wow, BackoftheNet is the best coaching my child has ever had by a million miles. In the past we have always been to a pro club near by who run soccer schools, but from now on it will be BackoftheNet.

Just wanted to say thank you to all at BackoftheNet for everything you have done for the boys. They both came home on a real high, which we haven’t seen for a while.

Thanks again BackoftheNet – I am so glad that I found BackoftheNet in Milton Keynes, David has improved so much since attending your advanced courses. Your coaches are so positive and their experience and knowledge of the game is priceless for my son’s future development.
James Bolton
My son has thoroughly enjoyed his days with you. It's the best soccer schools he has been on. I would certainly recommend you to others.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the team at Back of the Net on behalf of my son Caden Poulton. Off the back of a summer tournament Caden was spotted by Aston Villa which led onto 14 great months there before being asked to join. Caden has more recently been offered a contract by Northampton Town which logistically works better for Caden and the family. Without the training and support from the BOTN team this would not of happened so we are very grateful.
